Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
This time last year driver Jay Miller and his #09 SK Modified team were putting the finishing touches on their CD chassis, Billy the Kid powered race car in preparation for the 2006 racing season at the Waterford Speedbowl. Things went well at the pre season practice session and Jay and the team were optimistic about the upcoming season, but just days before the season opener disaster struck.
"I sustained an eye injury in a work related accident and was told by the doctors that first off the injury needed time to heal, then that it wouldn't be a good idea for a period of time also to risk jarring it in a race car or what have you so by the time things were all said and done the season was pretty much a wash so we decided to just take the time to focus on 2007".
"The car was ready to roll for last season but over the winter we stayed busy in the shop though looking to come out even more prepared for 07". "Taking last season off gave myself and the team a lot of time to think about areas where we needed to improve, myself as a driver and the way the guy's on the crew approach thing's as well".
"The team and I are just really looking forward to the upcoming season, were hoping to be consistent contenders week in an week out and hopefully score a win or two along the way".
"Also, were currently seeking additional sponsorship and also some additional crew members anyone who would be interested in either contact me at: jaymillerracing@gmail.com".
