Im sorry Yankee that is incorrect. According to Yankeeracer.com's all time SuperModified race winners stat page, the first ISMA race was held in 1976 and it wasn't at Lancaster and the ISMA site backs that up so.......
ISMA had some races prior to the touring series format in 1976. The inaugural ISMA race was in 1974 at Lancaster. So depending on what you mean by first race, the answer changes. The inaugural ISMA series race was (as my site and ISMA list) in 1976 at Thompson with Don MacLaren winning. Steve Gioia, Jr. went on to win the championship.
