Rusty Wallace forms alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing: Officials of Rusty Wallace Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing announced the formation of a technical alliance between the two teams, under which JGR will provide RWR with technical support for the development of NASCAR Nationwide Series Toyota Camry race cars. In the last two Nationwide Series seasons, RWR has fielded a pair of Chevy Impalas and in 2009 was the only team with multiple drivers among the top-ten in the year-end driver standings. For the 2010 season, the team will campaign factory-backed Toyota Camrys, with engines provided by Triad Racing Development. Stated RWR team owner, Rusty Wallace, "We're excited about working with J.D. (Gibbs) and his guys; they've built a very solid Nationwide Series program over the past several seasons. Between all of the support that we're receiving from Toyota and this new partnership, I feel that 2010 will be a strong year for our team." Regarding the partnership, JGR President J.D. Gibbs noted, "We're looking forward to working with Rusty and his team at RWR. We're excited to have them join the Toyota camp next year in the Nationwide Series and we look forward to providing assistance to their program as well."(RWR PR)(12-14-2009)
