Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Somebody better check their numbers or they sure qualify funny down there!
1 Adam Gay, Dublin, N.C. 14.677 61.320 2 Brandon Hire, Winston-Salem, N.C. 14.729 61.104 3 Burt Myers, Walnut Cove, N.C. 14.693 61.254 4 Gary Putnam, Concord, N.C. 14.661 61.387 5 Jonathan Kievman, Deerfield Beach, Fla. 14.701 61.220 6 James Civali, Meriden, Conn. 14.428 62.379 7 Frank Fleming, Mt. Airy, N.C. 14.670 61.350 8 Tim Brown, Cana, Va. 14.697 61.237
I only showed the top 8 but you can get the idea, 6th Civali has quickest time and the 2nd should be at least 8th and 4th should be 2nd.... maybe there is something I am missing I guess.
And with 14 of their 23 cars all from NC no wonder they have small numbers. Heck there may be as many or more cars from north of the Mason/Dixon line then all the other southern states (not including NC) combined. Maybe NC is the only state that has historically had open wheeled modifieds or something. Just seems strange.
Just like it's northern counterpart the WMT, they have a post qualifying redraw for the the top so many qualifiers (6,8, or 10 Also determined by the fastest qualifier drawing) to determine starting positions for the race Spd, something I personally have never cared for but hey that's me........
That being said I have to say my congrats to the Lajoie kid, I'll be honest I thought he kind of came off a little ****y an kinda talkin a little smack last year with some of his comments before he ran the CWES race last year at Thomspon, but hey he did the best thing you can do back up what you talk!
Hey, thanks for the explaination. That makes sense but like OWR said, I have never liked that. I remember when they ran time trials for heat line ups then ran heats and then redrew the top top ten.
