Sterlin Marlin, was the most recent driver to win back to back Daytona 500's doing it in 94 and 95. What driver was the next most recent driver to pull off back to back 500 wins? Bonus points for the years.
That would have to be Cale Yarborough in 1983 and 1984.
I was there in 83 for my first visit to Daytona, and Cale was FLYING (literally) in qualifying. That was the year he had the pole on his first lap and then flipped it out of turn four on the next lap,destroying the car. After bringing out the backup car to run the 125 he qualified in the 8th spot.
