Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
With the season over and several months to the 2006 season , I decided to start doing some posts on thoughts of the 2005 season .
For this round I was wondering who you thought was the biggest winner and biggest loser of the 2005 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season.
My answers:
Biggest winner - Tony Hirschman . This man just has a nack for getting the job done . And credit also must be given to the entire #48 team . Somehow, someway they always seem to overcome all obstacles .
Biggest Loser - Ted Christopher. This will probably upset some people but so be it . Ted should have been the 2005 Tour Champion ( which is something I would never have dreamed of ) but instead ended up in the wall only 10 laps into the final race . Perhaps "the tornado" will learn a valuable lesson . PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE . But judging from the way he was racing a Wall , he has not learned a thing .
Please respond with your thoughts and opinions .

I must agree with you OPEN . Steve Whitt is one of several drivers who had breakthrough seasons . While it is quite obvious the team is not lacking in funds , they are relatively unknowns . Others I would add to this group are Doug Coby , Dave Etheridge , and Greg Shivers . A tip of the hat also goes to 2005 rookie Tyler Haydt who made great strides through the season .
Hossfeld deinitely did not live of to his expectations. Another driver I expected to see have a much better season was Kevin Goodale . The way he ran in Florida (New Smyrna) I expected him to be a factor all season long.
My vote for hard luck driver has to be Jim Storace . If this team was rewarded for even 1% of their effort , they would be a Top Ten car every race . They just do not quit . I noticed Jim missed alot of the season ending races , I hope he will be back in 2006. Someone stealing from the teams hauler definitely does not help either.

Well since i work on a tour car(Bouchard Motorsports) i believe my team gets the hard luck award. Dont get me wrong all teams have there hard times, but i thought i would throw our 2 cents in. Between working the long nights just before the icebreaker and breaking a pan-hard bar in the race after starting on the pole. Stafford hurt with the wreck, loudon was terrible busting the engine in july and not being able to get it fixed until the 300 and working late friday night getting the engine in. We finished 15 which was a good run for such a long week/night. The second loudon race was tuff we had such a fast car ive never seen it move up to the front so fast. But the driveline broke after our pit stop which we were short handed on. World series just sucked we didnt qualify, need i say more? Yes it was a hard season at bouchard motorsports with the tour, his sk, the race school, and some other drivers sk's. I cant wait til next year though to do it again. See you all at the icebreaker and some true value races.
