Stefanik files first Jennerstown entry

From whowon.com

JENNERSTOWN, Pa. -- Mike Stefanik, the winningest competitor in NASCAR Modified history, is the first driver to file an entry for the June 17 Wheeler Bros. 100 Whelen Modified Tour (WMT) event at Jennerstown Speedway.

The Coventry, Rhode Island pilot has amassed 67 victories in the open wheel modifieds while winning six divisional championships. Additionally, Stefanik also has picked-up 12-wins and two championship trophies while competing on the NASCAR Busch East circuit.

Stefanik is no stranger to Jennerstown victory lane, having captured two modified races and a Busch East checkered flag at the half-mile asphalt Somerset County asphalt oval.

Stefanik has been a part time competitor in the modifieds the past several seasons, but has returned to the class on a full time basis this year driving for car owner Eric Sanderson. The new team has been an instant success, as Stefanik drove to victory in the opening Tour race at Thompson, Conn.

Aside from the modified century grind there will be a feature event only program for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series super late model, late model, street stock and hobby stock divisions, along with the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing vintage race car exhibition and the induction of the Jennerstown Hall of Fame nominees.

Veteran Nextel Cup driver Jimmy Spencer will also be on hand to participate in an autograph session.

Advance $15.00 discount tickets are available through June 15 on-line at www.jennerstown.com, or by calling 1-888 695-0888. Tickets may also be purchased at the speedway office (cash transaction only).

Gates will open at 2:00 PM, with the first feature race set to begin at 5:00.
