Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
While finishing 22nd may not sound like a major accomplishment, you have to consider all the facts. Jake Marosz is one of a dying breed. An indepent driver in a world of big dollar teams. If dedication and commitment were all that was neccessary to win Championships, Jake would have won several.
Jake tows to every Whelen Tour event, knowing the odds are against him. With an ever increasing amount of big budget teams, qualifying becomes increasingly difficult.
Not only did he finish ahead of 23 other drivers, Jake also finished on the lead lap. Quite an accomplishment for a team with a small portion of the budget most teams he beat have. This is reportedly Jakes first lead-lap finish on the Tour. And it is nice to see it happen in one of the Tours biggest events.
Way to go Jake.
