Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Terry Labonte competed in his final race, fittingly in his home state of Texas.
The Corpus Christi native took his 848th green flag in NASCAR's top series. He ranks fourth all time behind Richard Petty (1,185), Dave Marcis (883) and Ricky Rudd (875).
It wasn't a great day for the Hendrick Motorsports driver. The two-time Cup champion had to go to the garage twice to fix his shocks.
"It's been a great ride, a lot of fun, and I've really enjoyed the series all of these years," said Labonte, who had 22 wins in his career. "I've been very fortunate in my career to be with some very good teams and win a couple of championships and win races."
