OWR did get a chance to head on down to Wall Stadium today and may be calling us with some news and results! Anything I hear from him will be posted in this thread. What a gorgeous day it ended up being for the last race of the year.

Evidently, an altercation with the backstretch wall has caused a lengthy caution for repairs. The cars are stopped on the track with 52 to go, and the top five are running as follows; 1)Ken Wooley, 2)John Blewett III, 3)Donny Lia, 4)Jimmy Blewett, 5)Les Hinckley. We will return with the unofficial finish as soon as the checker drops.

After a very lengthy caution period to fix the wall, and other cautions for minor alercations, the Open Modified feature has concluded with Jimmy Blewett taking the win. From the noise in the background, he was not the fan favorite to win. Apparently Les Hinckley tried to get the win, but was run up into the turn four wall. here is the unofficial top ten finishers;
Jimmy Blewett
Les Hinckley
Donny Lia
John Blewett III
Rowan Pennick
Jamie Tomaino
Dave Sepienza
Billy Pauch Jr.
Steven Ried
Pete Britton
Sorry if there are any mispellings!
We will be back with the Wall Modified results when the checker drops.

I am sitting very patiently waiting for the last call to come, and the phone rings, it's not over yet. Twenty-seven laps into the 100 lap feature event for the Wall Mods (SK's), Woody Pitkat hit the turn three pit entrance wall. He is okay, but the car is irrepairably damaged. The red flag is out for cleaning up his car and working on the fence. The top five runners are as follows; 1)Steven Reid, 2)Mike Carpenter, 3)John Blewett III, 4)Tim Arre, 5)Kevin Flockhart. Ken Schrader is running seventh. Back with the finish, hopefully soon....

Well another season has come to an end, an no way better to close it out with a trip down to Jersey for the annual Turkey Derby at Wall.
It was a real nice sunny fairly warm day which is a good thing, as you never know what your going to get when you go down for this Nov event. I pretty much concur with everyone else's opinion's I've saw that the day was way to drawn out which is unusual, as usually the races are over by dark at the Turkey Derby.
The racing was really good in both Modified features as well as the support division an definitely in the almost 20 years I have been going down to the Derby it was the biggest crowd I've personally seen. I know everyone's a crtic, but I definitely think if the official's worked on getting the car's lined more quickly after caution's, an clean up time was cut down the crowd wouldn't have grown as restless. The pre race ceremony's hurt thing's as well, but hey all in all were race fan's, crew etc we all have been there before sometime's you have to expext these thing's.
The open Mod race saw the Blewett's ( As usual when your at Wall) be the talk of the race. Ken Wooley looked strong early, as well as JBIII but in the end it was "Showtime" Jimmy Blewett who would wear the wreath. Definitely the suprise of the race was the run turned in by TVMRS regular Les Hinckley as he drove the wheels off Chuck Montville's #06 coming back from a spin to challenge Showtime coming to the white flag only to be "crowded" high off turn 4. Donny Lia and Jamie Tomanio also turned in solid performances. Jimmy Blewett was roundly booed by the huge crowd in victory lane and I don't think he helped his cause by some of the comment's he made on the mic.
The Wall Mod race was also entertaining Jimmy Blewett spun and went a lap down early an never recovered from the 1 lap deficit. JBIII turned in a strong run, but it seemed nobody had anything for Steven Reed as he dominated on his way to victory. Ken Schrader turned in a solid run an mixed it up some with the regulars an also came back from a spin to finish 4th. CT SK driver Woody Pitkat had a tough go of it as he started dead last, (27th) had smartly worked his way up to around 12th just 27 lap's in when two car's tangled on the backstretch Pitkat went high to avoid them an ran out of room an took a head on shot into the Sand barrel at the turn 3 pit entrance. Woody appeared ok, but the #52 had some heavy front end damage.
Once again another great time had by OWR at the Turkey Derby at Wall.
