Despite coming up short for his first win since the Whelen Southern Modified Tour went under the NASCAR banner in 2005, Fleming was pleased with his night.
Im just tickled to be competitive, Fleming said. Ive been up and down so much the last several years so this means a lot. This is two races in a row on the Tour that Ive been in contention for a win. Im just proud of my team and what weve been able to do to get back to this point because its easy for a team to get down when a driver doesnt do like he should. Weve just struggled to work harder and now its showing up for us out on the track.
I still have a lot of fire in me and I drove my heart out tonight.
