Solomito Working On Partial Tour Deal

NASCAR New York State Champion Timmy Solomito is working on a deal to run select events on the 2010 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Solomito also plans to make a run for the Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Modified Championship driving for Dave Brigatti.

The Natural is the real deal. Justin might just have himself some competition for that rookie title.Good luck to both of these young guns in 2010

I may be wrong Bowatcher, but if Timmy even runs in 2010 I do not think he will run enough  races to compete for Rookie of The Year.

Any team owner looking for the next Ryan Preese need to look no further!!

Young, talented, well spoken and a hell of a racer.

Good luck Tim you would look great on the full tour.

And don't snooze on his brother Shawn either. He turned in some very solid runs at Waterford the times I saw him run there this year, and anyone that knows the Speedbowl knows that it's not an easy place to get around with very little track time there and Shawn definitely held his own.

Timmy definitely has the talent and can get it done with enough seat time. Shawn really impressed me as well and can wheel it with the big boys. They both are really good kids and know what they are doing and I think they can go places. They have a great family behind him as well so I'm hoping for the best in their careers.

Yea they both seem very talented. Shawn was very quick at the Finale at Waterford until something broke i think. Got a chance to see Timmy race at Thompson and he was running in the top 5 most of the race, his first time there i believe too. Not sure if he is related to them but I see the kid that spots for TS around them helping them alot as well so its good they have some expirenced help, from guys that run up here alot. I read somewhere that they both won rookie of the year in their classes at Riverhead. Def seem to be up and comers to keep an eye on, hopefully we will see them on the tour soon.

It'll be great if the deal goes down, Legends championship, wins in the Chargers, wins in the modified, ROTY in all 3, I'd say the kid has what it takes to go places. You don't see many versatile drivers these days that can win in that many types of cars and be that young to boot.

Shawn and Timmy Solomito SUCK....obviously I am kidding

As Shawn's full time spotter, I can tell ya he can flat wheel a car. I don't think I have ever seen anyone tame Waterford the way he did during 2009 when he competed. There were 2 races that he should have won, but a broken clutch killed one chance and the second chance was ruined by a bad call by the officials. Shawn came from 18th to 2nd by passing the top shoes on the inside and outside. We got to 2nd and were running down the leader Dennis Gada. After a yellow, Shawn (outside in 2nd) got a great start and Gada (inside 1st) missed a gear...they threw the yellow and warned us for jumping. If they let it go Shawn would have walked away with it. Look for us to be there all season this year if things go the way they are planned.

As Timmy's part time spotter, I can tell you that we need to get him out of Riverhead and onto more tracks for more experience as often as possible...some Tour or MRS or Open Comp shows will allow us to do that as is planned. We ran Thompson last season for 1 SK show and he was up to 5th pressuring Marvin in the 07 for 4th...he can drive also. Look for Timmy to run some races at Thompson in the SK and anything else he can get into to include more tracks and divisions as funding and oportunities allow.

I thought this tread was about Timmy Solomito. I here that when his slightly older brother wins in Atlantic City in a few weeks maybe then we could start a new tread about that slightly older brother. Until then can we please find a tour owner who wants to put this super talented youngster in a fine quality ride. The results will speak for themselves. And with a little persuasion maybe his once in awhile spotter can join him in his march too the top.

Watcher, i think Pur$uation is a better word.. haha.

In all seriousness though all 3 Solomito brothers are very talented, and the entire family Jerry, Linda, Uncle Glenn, Jerry, Shawn, Timmy, and even Grandpa couldnt possibly be more of a pleasure to work with. I spot full time for TS so i only get to spend limited time helping these guys out, but they are def the REAL DEAL. The first night they actually let Timmy race a full blown mod at the head he time trials on the outside pole and ran in the top 5 the whole race finishing 3rd i believe. And I believe Shawn had the Finale at Waterford in the bag till he had a part failure on a restart, which should have been his 2nd win in limited starts if you count the race muffy is talking about. All you have to do is watch either of them race once and you'd be very impressed. Hopefulyl one day ill hit the lotto and be able to get all of them a car. Until then I can just hope they get a break somewhere, cause there is no doubt that any of them would make the most of it.
