Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
It's a gorgeous day down here in southeastern CT, a perfect day to have the Waterford Speedbowl's Finale! We will be posting Live results as the checker drops for the SK 100 Lapper, and podium finishes for the Sportsman, the Late Models, and time permitting, the Mini Stocks. During the Whelen Modified Tour event we will be going over to www.ModSeriesScene.com to view their coverage. WSB's SK division is scheduled drop the green at 1:20pm, so join us about 2:30 for the first Live results of the day. We plan on having the full finish for at least that division!

Sorry for the delay, apparently the SK race was so wreck filled, that one hour since the end of the race the bowl still hasn't put up a full finish list. 26 cars began the race and around only 10 cars finished it. The top five has been released and it is unofficial as the transponder system stopped working properly half-way thru the race. The following five cars were the only five cars on the lead lap at the end of the race.
The unoffical top five finishers for the SK feature were:
Rob Janovic
Dennis Gada
Jimmy Blewett
Donny Fowler
Diego Monahan
Jimmy Blewett's third place finish is highly contested by many competitors who think he was at least one lap down. The full finish will be released after the race is completely scored by hand due to the transponder failure. Dennis Gada wins a 6th championship with this year's SK championship.
The Sporstmen race is running now...

Dwayne Dorr finished this season in championship style by unofficially winning today's race as well as the 2006 Sportsmen championship. The crowd was thrilled as Dwayne did a burnout from turn 1 to turn 4, got out of the car and did an Edwardsian flip, and almost disrobed! Congratulation to Dwayne on one hell of a year.
The top five unoffical finishers in the Sprortsmen division were:
Dwayne Dorr
Al Stone
Jim Proccocini
Roger Perry
Greg Butler
Festivities now get turned over to the WMT, with a scuff session and time trials for the tour Mods. Be back for Late Model podium results.

Any more SK results yet or are they still trying to figure out who they want to finish and in what position they want them? I have never ever heard of anything more foolish than the transponder system all of a sudden shutting down, maybe their favorite wasn't doing as well as they wanted him to so any excuse is as good as none!
I'm pretty sure Blewitt stopped in 1&2 while leaking to bring a caution out and never caught the pace car, he drove straight to the pit gate and should be 1 lap down.
Here are the results! Got these from the Speedbowl Direct site, they must have straightened it out.
1 Robert Janovic Jr (51) 2 Dennis Gada (3) 3 James Blewett (10) 4 Donald Fowler (26) 5 Diego Monahan (81) 6 Tyler Chadwick (27) 7 Michael Gada (21) 8 Jeffrey Pearl (71) 9 Mark St. Hilaire (23) 10 Joseph Krawiec (85) 11 Christopher Pasteryak (5) 12 Wendell Dailey (66) 13 Jeffrey Paul (91) 14 Richard Duranti (77) 15 David Morgenstein (6) 16 Shawn Monahan (31) 17 David Flammia Jr. (63) 18 William Benoit (0) 19 Frank Mucciacciaro Jr (98) 20 Thomas Fox (47) 21 Richard"Bubby" Brouwer (49) 22 Wayne Arute (14) 23 Kevin Shea (01) 24 Christopher Barr (84) 25 Robert Summers Jr. (11) 26 David Gada (9) 27 Brandon Hansen (22) 28 Richard Donnelly III (20) DNS

Thanks Warren for that info, but as the official results state, they scored Blwett 3rd. Rumor has it there are lots of p'd off drivers and teams regarding his finishing position.

Just got a call from OWR who is waiting patiently along with all the other fans, drivers and teams for the Tour race to begin. The turn 3 lighting went out prior to the start and they are waiting for the problem to be repaired. I doubt he will stay for the Mini feature, so we will not bring the results from it. He says he will be lucky if he makes it through the Tour race. But the devoted fan he is, I am sure he will stay. Hopefully, it won't be much longer.

I for one have no problem with Blewett's finish. During both the Sk and LM race more than 1 car pitted without catching the pace car. Thats a pretty useless rule when you don't lose laps in the pits anyway, yet count cautions. Asking them to catch and pass the pace car at that point is futile; it should only apply if you do run the risk of losing laps while in the pits. Otherwise there's no difference from that and a reg Sat night race and pitting w/o "technically" completing the lap.
You have to at least complete the lap that was ran under green to stay on the lead lap.
I questioned the then catching the pace car after you completed the last green flag lap during the pepsi 300 race also, why should we roll around on a flat if we don't go laps down?
Like the rule or not, it is the rule and if we have to play by it, so should you.
Not sure on the Blewett deal, I'll be totally honest I didn't see the whole deal but was told from a few different people pretty much what Warren said it looked like he just made contact with the wall an drove in the pit's and a rule is a rule but I also agree with Anon that it's a useless rule because as long as your on the lead lap under caution you don't lose lap's in the pit's.
The SK race as a whole was pretty much a joke. Pretty spirited battle to say the least for the win between #3 and #51. For a family that always seemed to consider #51 driver as an adopted family member I wonder if he'll be crossed off their Christmas card list?
Late Model race was great, good to see AC (Allen Coates) an the newly dubbed (by Matt Buckler) "entertainer" Corey Hutchings in the house. Looked like Tim Jordan was gonna cruise to yet another win but a restart with AC on the outside ( A driver from another division who was sitting with us enjoying a few adult beverages was heard to say out of respect to AC, "man that is the last guy you want lined up next to you on a restart") AC sank it in there a ton an Jordan lost the handles on #47 and went for a spin.
Sportsman race was interesting to say the least, good to see Dwayne Dorr take down the tittle after such a dominant season. The burnouts and donught's he did in celebration rivaled a Harvick victory celebration at a Cup race.
Mini Stock's I didn't see one lap of because the lateness of the hour but heard Cassidy Jr had em covered.
WMT race was very good with a great battle for the lead and some good racing threw out the field.
Side notes:
The Lights going out sucked but as they say "stuff" happens.
The scoring situation in the SK's. It never fails whenever the Bowl runs an extra distance Mod race with or without transponders it always turns into a nightmare. Could I do it any better? probably not.
Was good to see Ed Reed Jr back in competition in Goss's back up Lm. Fast Eddie say's he has a very good sponsorship deal lined up for next year and just needs an SK ride to bring it to, so car owners.......?
Corey Hutchings also told us that he potentially has some very good sponsorship lined up for next year and is looking to move up to the SK division as well.
Well it's off to the Big T on Sunday for the World Series!
